13.pngScience coursework is something that should be done accurately and precisely. Of course, we all are humans and making mistakes lies in our nature. While writing your science coursework, you will also make numerous mistakes; however, they all can be minimized. At least, you can avoid some very common mistakes that all the students make when writing their science coursework.

Now, we are going to enumerate these mistakes, so that you do not make them anymore in your science coursework.

  • Using wrong verb tenses. Actually, using wrong verb tenses is one of the most irritating things about your science coursework. First of all, it shows the writer’s poor writing skills. Second, using wrong verb tenses in your science coursework may confuse the reader and he/she will get the facts misunderstood.
  • Unnecessary information. This can be noticed in your science coursework very often. For instance, some students can write in their work: “My tutor told me to do …” or “I used Excel to make a graph, which shows …” It is obvious that this information is completely insignificant for your science coursework. Instead of this, it is much more important to describe actual research.

  • Redundant background. It often happens that a student begins to give all the information he/she possesses in the science coursework. When you do this, you just waste yours and the reader’s time. Remember that you should not distract from a certain point and give necessary information exactly on this issue.
  • Wrong usage of the words and phrases. It is also a very annoying mistake that the English speaking readers of your science coursework will never forgive you. For example, somebody can write: “The temperature difference has an affect on …” while “affect” is a verb and you should use “effect”.

Actually, it is not a full list of those mistakes that students usually make in their science courseworks. In most cases they can be avoided, at least, by means of proofreading that students do not like to do. And that is one more mistake.
